That night, Rin, who was on her way back home from the encounter with Eminem, met up with Nico and Hanayo. The late Scatman's ghost appeared before them (notably, Kotori, who had a strange obsession with the man, was upset to have missed the chance to speak with him again) to warn them of something, but the trio were quickly distracted by a nearby man's rejected confession to his close friend.
The three compassionate girls tried to comfort him, and he lashed out. The three of them then reported that Gadget had been seen nearby, and took no action. However, this contradicts with Gadget's testimony of his whereabouts at the time, so they must have seen incorrectly. They were rescued by someone "who looked familiar, and wore dark gray." They promptly fled the scene.
The first man was apprehended on account of having an unlicensed concealed revolver and was initially suspected of attacking the three girls rather than just shouting. He was later acquitted of this crime, but not of the unlicensed gun.
